Tom calls on old man Schmidt to fix things up for his friend George. He calls on the wrong Schmidt, who also has a daughter named Lena, and the two think Tom is there to ask for her hand for himself. Arrangements are made for a marriage but Tom and George think the intended bridegroom is George, as George does not know the wrong Schmidt was approached by Tom.
